A Project plan consists of four main elements ¬? purpose, goals, objectives and projects
.
Purpose ¬?
A statement summarizing what the organization wants .
Goals ¬?
A general statement describing a preferred result without being specific about how much and when. In general terms, goals describe how the project will achieve the purpose; a goal may span several years.
Objectives ¬? A specific statement of a desired short-term result. Objectives should be measurable, results oriented and accomplished within a specific time frame.
Projects ¬? The action plan developed to achieve the results of the objectives. Each project needs a specific owner and resources need to be loaded and balanced across projects to avoid conflicts.
