Often times people try to collect too much information and end up losing a potential client.
Tips on what to collect:
- Only collect minimally essential information
- Don't use required fields if a all possible- it forces people to redo their work - they won't
- Don't get too personal in the types of information collect
- Include your contact information on the form
- Provide and option for them to be included on your Emailing list - even if you don't send out emails in the future
- Don't restrict the size of a field in terms of number of characters allowed - you can clean up the data later
