The brute force detection is caused by cPHulk catching too many failed login attempts to the account. It is currently set by default at a maximum of 2 failures per IP address. You can login to WHM and go to Security Center > cPHulk Brute Force Detection and you will see your settings, and the login attempts. 

Make your changes accordingly
